Privacy & sources

How BestSeat gets its information and what happens to yours.

Spot facts

Names, addresses, hours, ratings and review counts come from Google Maps. Wi-Fi, outlet and noise details appear only when a source says so, and each one links to that source. Anything we couldn't confirm says "Not verified yet". Laptop scores are worked out by BestSeat from those facts, not from Google stars.

Corrections from people using the app are checked before listings change.

Photos

Spot photos are loaded straight from Google Maps when the page opens and credited to the person who took them. We don't keep copies. Some spots show a photo uploaded by the BestSeat team instead, credited under the photo.

Reviews

Google reviews appear as a short first-line excerpt with the reviewer's name and a link to read the full review on Google Maps. They belong to their authors and Google. Reviews written on BestSeat show your display name and are visible to everyone.

Your account and data

Signing in stores your email address so you can save favorites, write reviews and send corrections. Your saved spots are private to you. If you allow location access, it's used in your browser to sort spots by distance; we don't store it.

Questions you type into the Ask and recommendation features are sent to an AI service to produce an answer. If you connect an AI assistant, it can only see public spot info and your own saved spots, and only after you approve it.
